Grady J. Layfield, CPA

Grady is the managing partner of Layfield & Borel, CPA's, LLC. He has over 20 years of public accounting experience. Prior to his merger with  Borel & Associates, Grady worked as a sole practitioner. Prior to starting his own firm, Grady worked in the financial services industry for 8 years. Grady started his professional accounting career with a local firm in Alexandria, LA. and then worked as a Senior Tax Manager at KPMG, LLP in their "Personal Financial Planning" section. While working at KPMG he gained invaluable experience and expertise in financial planning as well as income and estate tax planning. Grady is a member of the Small Business Committee for the Louisiana Society of CPAs and is a past President of the Baton Rouge Chapter of the LCPA. Grady is a member of the Louisiana Society of CPAs as well as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Grady received his B.S. in Accounting from LSU-Shreveport in 1993.



Brandy McLin Juneau, CPA

Brandy started her career with Layfield and Borel in 2010 and has been full time with our firm over the past several years. She works with both individuals and business clients in the areas of tax, bookkeeping, and payroll. Brandy received her Master’s degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2012 and her B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2011. Brandy passed the CPA exam in February of 2013 and received her license in 2014.  Brandy has been a tremendous part of our growth and is a wonderful addtion to the ownership team.




Heather Bellanger, CPA
Firm Administrator

Heather has over 19 years of experience in public accounting.  Heather began her tax career at KPMG, LLP in New Orleans.  Upon moving to Baton Rouge in 2006, she was a founding member of Bellanger & McQuiddy, APAC.  In 2013 Heather associated with Layfield and Borel, CPAs, LLC and continues to provide high quality service to her long standing clients along with administrative duties for the firm.  Heather has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Master’s degree in Accounting from The University of New Orleans.  She is a licensed CPA.



Heather Gould, CPA
Tax Manager

Heather has over 8 years of public accounting experience. After working with the firm as an intern in college, Heather worked as a Tax Associate at KPMG, LLP in Shreveport, LA for 3 years. While working at KPMG she gained invaluable experience and expertise in individual, partnership and corporate taxation. She then worked 3 years as a Staff Accountant with a local firm in Lake Charles, LA before joining Layfield & Borel in September 2013. Heather is a member of the Louisiana Society of CPAs. Heather received her Master’s degree in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2006 and received her B.S. in Accounting from Louisiana State University in 2005.



Tracy Hoek, CPA

Tracy has 20 years of experience in forensic accounting, public accounting and the private sector. Tracy began her career with the Louisiana Office of the Legislative Auditor where she specialized in forensic audits.  After her time with the Legislative Auditor Tracy worked with KPMG, LLP’s Forensic Practice in Dallas, TX for a year then transferred to KPMG, LLP’s Baton Rouge, LA office as an Audit Associate.  Tracy began working in the private sector as a Controller and has nearly 5 years of experience before joining Layfield and Borel, CPAs in December 2014.   Tracy is a graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Louisiana Society of CPAs



Meredith Reed
Staff Accountant

Meredith started her career at Layfield and Borel as an Intern in December 2015.  She received both her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in May 2017 and a Master of Accountancy in May 2018 from LSU.  Meredith prepares indivdual and business tax returns and assists with the bookkeeping clients.  Currently she is studying for the CPA Exam.



Teri Richardson

Teri began working with Layfield & Borel in August 2018. She has over 20 years experience in accounting in both the public and private sector.  Teri is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of monthly sales tax, workers compensation and payroll liability payments as well as processing payroll for multiple companies.   



Candace Carroll
Front Desk Coordinator

Candace joined Layfield & Borel in November 2018 with over 15 years of office management experience, which has provided her with exceptional organizational and communication skills. She is the initial point of contact for our clients and associates, and sees to it that questions or concerns are answered in a timely and confidential manner.  Candace also provides general administrative support to all of our accountants and bookkeepers and keeps our office running smoothly.
